That's almost equivilant to going outside with out showering and brushing your teeth. First of all, if you want your suede oxford shoes to last and look like brand new for as long as possible, it is necessary to take a few very important steps. Now as we all know, suede oxford shoes are not usually waterproof, If you happen to get caught out in the rain or if you get splashed on, your shoes might as well be saved for when you are cutting the grass. They will be ruined. Even if your suede oxford shows say they are waterproof which most aren't you will still need to pretreat them. What I recommend for any new pair of suede oxford shoes is to treat them with any silicone based water and stain repellent spray before you ever even consider wearing them outside. Wait, stop. Before you ever even consider wearing them. What I highly recommend doing is first spray your new suede oxford shoes all over the suede upper and let them sit for about a half hour. Afterwards give them another good spraying again and let them sit overnight. Your new suede oxford shoes are now water and stain repellent. That is almost better than water proof because anything that spills,drops or drips on your suede oxford shoes will simply not penetrate and stain the suede. You will be surprised how much longer your suede oxford shoes will look like new. It's almost uncanny. Now after a while when your suede oxford shoes start to show any signs of dirt, it is time to clean them up. I recommend one of those suede eraser bars and brush kits to clean up those suede oxfords and restore them to clean. If you happen to get mud on them, try to wipe them down with a damp rag first and let them dry. Then use the suede eraser bar on them and brush out. Once that is done, you will need to retreat your suede oxford shoes to another shower so to speak of suede water repellent spray and let them sit overnight.
