| | Penny Loafers-How to Take Care of ThemYou heard a bump at the door and heard the Brown truck drive away. Your new penny loafers are here. What feels better than the feeling when you just got yourself a new pair of Penny Loafers. Yes Siree, brand new leather Penny Loafers that you've been waiting for impatiently and now you're ready to take on the work world with supreme confidence and comfort. You know the old saying that you could judge a man by the shoes on his feet. Well that applies to Penny Loafers as well. That expression is true in many aspects. I'm am surprised by how many men I see walking around in shoes like Penny Loafers that look like they played a game of football in them and I'm not saying that you have to wear only new Penny Loafers. What I'm saying is that you should learn to take care of the Penny Loafers you have. One of the first things I do when I have a new pair of Penny Loafers is to apply a wax polish to them if they are a smooth leather shoe. Why do I apply wax polish to them when they are brand new? Simple, because that wax polish such as kiwi will protect and seal the leather from the elements such as rain. Many times leather shoes are not given a thin layer of wax and rain can cause watermarks just the way a car can acquire. So just to be on the safe side, assume that your new leather Penny Loafers are essentially naked and need a layer of protection. The way to apply a wax polish is simple and takes only a few minutes. If the Penny Loafers are new, then you can start. If not, wipe the shoes down with a damp rag to remove any dirt that is on the shoes. Next, with a dry rag or old toothbrush you thinly apply the polish to shoes on all of the outside of the leather surface and edge of the soles if the shoes have leather soles. Let that shoe sit and do the other shoe in the same manner. After a couple of minutes I like to use a shoe shine brush and buff the Penny Loafers shoes in rhythmic fashion until the shoes are shining nicely. You should clean and shine your Penny Loafers once a week so they look their best and last longer. Now if you bought some penny loafers that are made of oily leather, the type that you can scratch your nail across and leave a mark, you need to just use a neutral shoe polish that is color free because you don't want to cover up the natural color or your loafers. To make your Penny Loafers last longer you should not wear them every single day. Wipe them down with a damp rag after you have finished wearing them. You should have at least two pairs of Penny Loafers so the pair you wore today can wick away all the moisture that they acquired while wearing them. If you don't let them sit for a day, what happens is all the moisture will break down the linings, cushioning and insole quicker. While your shoes are resting for a day or so you should put real cedar shoe trees in them to help restore them to their original shape. If you don't have any cedar shoe trees handy stuffing them with newspaper will suffice until you get shoe trees. I highly recommend cedar shoe trees due to the fact that they help absorb the moisture in your Penny Loafers. If you take these steps to properly take care of your cap toe shoes, you will be more than happy to let people judge you by the Penny Loafers you wear. Have you seen our Florsheim Shoes Here.
