Insulated Work Boots

If you buy work boots on a regular basis or noticed the words embossed on a pair of working boots. Insulated. What exactly makes boots insulated and what exactly are insulating the feet from.

Not all work boots are insulated just so you know. Usually insulated work boots get that way because the manufacturer puts some sort of material whether it's thinsulate,gore tex or just some kind of thick material between the leather of the boot and the lining. Insulation is put in the boots usually to protect the feet from either extreme cold or heat conditions. The majority of the time the insulation keeps feet warm when you're working in the cold. I can tell you from experience that whenever you're going to be outside in the cold, insulated boots will do the trick to keep your feet toasty. Naturally if the boots are not insulated the toes are the first thing to start feeling cold and numb. Usually the thickest part of the insulation is in the forefoot part of the boot to keep the toes the warmest. Growing up with harsh New England winters I learned early about the benefits of wearing insulated boots. I don't know how people live without them during the winter. The good thing is that most major brand name boots such as timberland,chippewa and wolverine make many varieties of insulated work boots.Insulated boots are so important to wear especially when it's snowing out. Insulated boots are simply a no brainer for warm feet.
